There are lots of dhabas (restaurant ) and the owners of them are the key to get rooms. I guess there are very little chance of advance booking. We got a room @Rs. 400 for 4 bed and an attached bathroom. The room was powered by a single solar lamp and there was no light in the bathroom, luckily I had a tourch.
Next day morning 7am we started our trek to Chandrasila and describing that is very hard for me in words. It is better you visit my album . I just failed to take the photograph of Monal bird which was too gorgious in this valley.
One thing I realised that GOOD Friday is best holiday for planning since it always fells on Friday and we have three continuous day to plan such a trip.

How I reached Chopta from Delhi?
This time me and my friends were planning for a trek which can be done within three days and close to Delhi. Chandrasila, Uttrakhand, India was in my mind for a long period and I thought why not this time. So I browse the net to find the possibility to execute my plan within three days. I found Chandrashila Winter Summit Trek from GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd) website quite useful to make a plan, but the plan was for seven days . Of course that seven day plan covers other places too and relaxing. But we had to adjust our trip for three days and only for chandrasilla. So we planned to reach Chopta by Friday evening.
That means less than 24 hour, but as per GMVN site it should normally take more. They might have consider relaxation and journey with ease. So I consulted with my friends in orkut community and successfully reached Chopta.
Now if you want to know how then rest is for that.
There is no direct bus for Chopta from Delhi.
Thursday 11pm :
We were at ISBT, Kashmere gate to catch a bus for Haridwar. The AC buses were already departed from there before 10pm. But it was never a problem for us, normal Uttarakhand state transport bus (USTB) was enough.
Bus Fare Rs.145/=
Friday 5.55am :
We were late, missed the first bus for Rudraprayag . The driver didn't know the road to Haridwar and was very slow driver, really. The next bus was at 6.30 am and a public one. Next USTB was at 8 am or from Rishikesh. So we took the public bus. I missed the right window seat, actually iI didn't get a window seat.
A right window seat is very important if you are going to follow Ganga upstream as it flow by the right side of the road. I was just praying for a window seat, and also for a right one. Luckily I got one at Rishikesh. After that it was very pleasant journey.
Bus Fare Rs.160/=
Friday 9.34am:
Our bus stopped for a break/breakfast at Teendhara just before Devprayag (70 km from Rishikesh) where Bhagirati and Alaknanda joins to form Ganga. After Devprayag the bus headed for Rudraprayag where river Mandakini meets with Alaknanda. For the rest of the journey the river flows on the left of the road and getting a seat left side is not hard now, since the bus is now half empty.
Friday 12.30pm :
Now we are at Rudraprayag (140 km from Rishikesh). At this time there were no direct bus for Chopta. There is a pool 100 meter ahead of the bus stop and the local people told us there was a jeep which used to go Ukhimath, but cancelled for the day. We could book a cab but it was asking for Rs.1400 which doesn't look reasonable to us. Now the only option to ride the USTB which will leave for Ukhimath after one hour and we took that bus. OK there was an SBI ATM near the pool. As we crossed Agustmuni the road was blocked due to land slide and it was too hot. At one point we thought it is impossible to reach Chopta and to find any snow in these summer days. But we wanted to give our best and not for that, the road was cleared by an earth mover.
Bus Fare Rs.40/=
Friday 3.50pm :
I can see the glaciers at the top of the mountains now from Ukhimath, no doubt the sky should be clear. But again there is no more bus for chopta till next day morning. So we booked a cab (Rs.600) and headed to our final destinanation.
Friday 5.30pm :

So these is Chopta , fully covered by re Bruansh flowers to welcome us.
